Welcome to the O’Keefe Clan Website
A Web site dedicated to researching the O’Keeffe (and variants) surname worldwide.
The purpose of this web site is to provide a central location of O’Keeffe information and research. This site contains a collection of information such as: queries, obituaries, census, web links, and other records and resources that maybe helpful for your research. Please note that we are a small all-volunteer organization and do not always have the ability to immediately respond to your questions.
We would like to feature old photographs of O’Keeffes born before the 1900’s. If you have a photograph you would like to contribute, please contact us. A query section has been added to this Web site to allow guests to post a query and allow other guests to respond to the post. There are also links to other O’Keeffe forums where one may also search and post their O’Keeffe information.
For serious researchers, we are working on a GEDCOM databases to provide relations and source of information. We ask contributors to include documentation in the Source field in order to verify the accuracy of their information. We do not require source documentation, however, and many entries have no documentation. In such cases, users should take the information for what it is--the potentially unverified and undocumented statement of another genealogist.
Thank you for your interest, we hope you enjoy this Web site.
Release of 1940 Census Data
Apr 2, 2012, 6:51 AM
BOSTON — At 9 a.m. Monday morning, the National Archives releases raw data from the 1940 U.S. census. Federal law requires that information be kept under wraps for 72 years. The release is big news for family historians.
“For 1940, there are all kinds of questions that get into people’s income and their education and marriage status and family, so it’s quite exciting, especially for genealogists,” said Joseph Keefe, an archive specialist at the National Archives Northeast Region in Waltham. - Source: http://www.wbur.org/2012/04/02/census-world-war
